ABOUT THE ARTIST
Dan Dyer is a musician known for his songwriting and soulful singing throughout his tremendous range. In 2004 he released his first album …Of What Lies Beneath on Roxie Records, the label Lenny Kravitz founded.
Dan grew up near the Austin, Texas music scene and fronted Breedlove. Breedlove appeared on the H.O.R.D.E. tour.
In 2001, after taking a few years off from music, Dan recorded a solo album he informally refers to as “Austin 12”. The CD was produced by famed guitarist Billy White who plays on most of the tracks, and has a blend of other Austin musicians sitting in on tracks such as Bruce Hughes and The Groove Line Horns. This CD was never formally released, however is one of the greatest representations of Dan’s musical abilities, and soulful voice. “Austin 12” is considered his best musical work by many devoted fans and contains some of the most thrilling songs that Dan is acclaimed for during his live performances.
“Don’t Believe in Love” is considered the highlight of the live shows, where Dan is know to improv on the keyboard and scat a beautiful blend of melodies and soulful lines that takes you to another place, and is different every time he performs it. Other crowd favorites that Dan usually performs from the CD live are “Don’t Give Up”, “Letter”, “Lightning Roller Coaster”, and “One Step Closer”. The CD also contains the original version of Dan’s hit “Great Ocean” and a remake of a popular Breedlove song named “Whiskey”. There are many copies of “Austin 12” floating around among fans and it has been rumored that Dan may release the CD sometime in the near future due to so much demand.
